Yarrells School - Upton
Being set in a large manor house with its period features – Yarrell’s School are challenged with the task of keeping this graceful looking building to a standard whilst creating modern and up to date learning facilities.
Yarrell’s have contacted us here at RDP on several occasions for various size projects.
This particular project was a dis-used art room which had damp stains on walls, ceiling in a state of dis-repair and a flooring which over the years had taken some abuse.
The challenge: Turn this room in to a new up to date modern looking classroom.
RDP Proposed a ceiling that would not only work with the original full-length window, but make a feature of it. A class-A sound absorbing tile was fitted which would allow compliance to Building Bulletin 93: Acoustic design of Schools.
Put in a commercial grade flooring which is not only functional, but carries to school’s colours, and allow the colour green to flow from the landscaped surroundings through the period style window through to the class room.
New LED lighting which gives the classroom a burst of light, but configured to not cause any issues with glare and reflection from the future intended whiteboards.
With the School open and the children making full use of this new learning environment, RDP look forward to working with Yarrell’s School on future projects.

The standard of works that were carried out were to a very high standard, and were started and finished on time. The plaster finish was excellent, the floor covering was very effective and even the clearing up was very professional.
